The Sofitel Philadelphia recently rolled out a special transportation service for guests. From Monday through Friday, 7 to 9 a.m., hotel guests can hop a free ride in an authentic London Taxi imported from England.
The service runs throughout Center City and even to Philadelphia International Airport; reservations can be made with the concierge.
In addition to the 7-9 am complimentary service, guests can also make reservations for the taxi’s services later in the day for an additional cost. And since the taxis are more like mini-limousines than taxis " the spacious passenger area in the rear is outfitted with five seats and a mini-bar " this makes good sense.
For example, if you wanted, the taxi could take you on a tour of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in the afternoon before dropping you off for a visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art; or if you wanted to use the taxi to take a driving tour of Society Hill and Old City in the evening before dropping you off for your dinner reservation at Amada, Buddakan, Zahav, etc.
